The components that make up ProxTel Suites, include software, hardware, and peripheral items that form a package or “kit” that allows for quick installation and operations of desktop video for a wide variety of users. 

Hardware Components

ProxTel Collaborative Video (PCV) applications are turbo-charged when coupled with the optional PCV ProCard.  The PCV ProCard hardware permits encoding of video streams using motion JPEG, and it is compatible with MPEG solutions as well.  The ProCard encodes and decodes in hardware, relieving strain on the computer's processor.  It is currently available for desktops.

Software Components

The basic application provides videoconferencing using H.263 suite - PCV Lecture Hall, PCV Conference, and PCV API Software - can be used as standalone in a PC without any hardware.
