ProxTel Collaborative Video (PCV) is an IP-based
videoconferencing system that also supports high-quality multipoint
videoconferencing without the use of Multipoint Conferencing Unit.
PCV is a hardware and software multimedia conferencing system for
personal computers, and enables high-
quality
video and stereo audio conferencing - with application sharing - over
the Internet.
With PCV, you can include compressed video and audio files within a live multipoint conference. Your users can place and size full-motion compressed video windows on their workstation monitors the same way they place graphics and text windows Additionally, PVC provides multimedia collaboration for up to 20 endpoints, each of which can be running video at different, user-selectable speeds.
Since there is no video server in a PCV configuration, your start-up costs are low, permitting for pay-as-you-grow scalability since you get multiparty collaboration over IP networks without the need for a video server. You simply install PCV on computers, and they begin working together without building a special network infrastructure. Imagine a single call can have as many as 100 active participants.
